Adele’s Surprising Decision: Why She’s Skipping a World Tour After Las Vegas Residency
Adele fans will be disappointed as it seems the chances of the star heading off on a world tour are slim.
The singer sent her fanbase into a frenzy last month when she appeared to hint at future live gigs after the end of her hugely successful Las Vegas residency.
But her agent has now insisted Adele isn’t one to follow the crowd, and her next career move will most likely be something completely different.
Her Weekends With Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is set to come to an end in June 2024.
And Adele’s long-standing agent Lucy Dickins has suggested the star is likely to take a break from gigs next year.
‘I don’t know – she won’t do what everyone else does,’ Lucy told Metro.co.uk as she arrived at the Music Industry Trusts (MITS) Awards in London on Monday.
‘[Adele’s] never done that in her life so I’d be surprised if she comes and does the same as everyone else.’
‘She’s enjoying doing the residency and I just think we’ll take each day as it comes.’
In an Instagram post in October Adele announced her original 34 weekend run in Vegas was being extended until June 2024.
In an emotional post Adele reflected on how she previously ‘fell out of love’ with performing and the gigs have since ‘changed [her] life’.
‘It’s just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I’m bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong!’ Adele wrote.
She signed off her post with the words: ‘So let’s go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever! Love you and I’ll see you on the otherside soon x’.
Many interpreted her words as meaning further gigs could be on the horizon after her residence ends.
‘I’ll see you on the other side soon’ WHAT DO YOU MEAN?????’, begged one fan.
‘See you on the otherside soon’ BETTER NOT PLAYING WITH US THIS TIME CRYING IN INTERNATIONAL’ agreed another.
‘Oh I’m praying for a world tour!!’ commented another.
Weekends with Adele are scheduled to run until June 2024 following a short break next month, after her current stint finishes on November 4.
The star soared back into the charts in 2021 with her fourth album 30 and has since been selling out her Vegas residency.
