Avril Lavigne reveals she would like Kristen Stewart to play her in a biopic… adding the actress is ‘dope’
While a biopic revolving around her life isn’t in the works quite yet, Avril Lavigne already knows who she wants to play her: Kristen Stewart.
The 38-year-old singer was on the red carpet at the iHeartRadio Awards on Tuesday, when she was asked who she’d like to play her in a biopic.
While the singer took a moment to think about the question, she quickly landed on Stewart on the red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium.

‘Oh… I’m trying to think… umm, like Kristen Stewart would be cool, to play me in a film,’ Lavigne answered.
‘Yeah, she’s dope, yeah,’ Lavigne added during the interview.
While there is no biopic in the works yet, Lavigne did tease back in December that she was considering turning her hit 2002 single Sk8er Boi into a movie.

‘Recently with it being almost the 20th anniversary, a lot of people have been asking me to play this song on some TV shows, so it keeps getting brought back up and people will always reference it to me,’ the singer said on the She Is the Voice podcast.
She also revealed that Sk8er Boi is one of her favorite songs to perform live before adding, ‘I’m actually going to turn this song into a film… and take it to the next level.’
The singer wrote the song when she was just 17, and said that it was based on her own high school experiences.

‘You know what it was like in high school, you have all the different groups and cliques, and there’s like skaters, preps, jocks. It’s kind of like a missed opportunity at love,’ she said.
She added, ‘The skater boy is in love with the preppy girl but like she’s too cool for him but then five years from now she’s feeding the baby and she’s all alone and she wishes she would have followed her heart and not tried to live up to society’s expectations.’
Lavigne said the movie would follow the same sort of story that plays out in the music video, about a ballet dancer who falls for a ‘skater boy’ but rejects him because of his appearance… before he goes on to be a successful rock star.

While Stewart hasn’t commented on Lavigne’s statement, she’s getting ready for the Oscars, with her first nomination this year for playing Princess Diana in Spencer.
She will be going up against Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye), Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), Penelope Cruz (Parallel Mothers) and Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos).
Stewart will next be seen in director David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future, which she stars in alongside Lea Seydoux, Viggo Mortensen and Scott Speedman.
