Decoding the meaning of 7 songs in Adele’s album “25”.

Adele’s songs always contain the singer’s true emotions and profound meanings.

With the attraction of her comeback, Adele’s album “25” easily broke all music records and became the best-selling album of 2015.

Share in advance what you’ve done with music critic Jon Pareles in the New York Times. Adele said she felt quite excited and proud.

“If my music can touch the emotions of listeners, it means they also understand who I am and what I’ve been through. That’s what I find satisfying.”

Talking about the inspiration for the songs in her new album, Adele also shared the meaning of the 7 songs she likes the most.

This song probably conveys all the feelings and memories when I was young. It’s a greeting to who I am, to my friends, to my ex-boyfriend, to the people who have passed through my life for the past 10 years, to my fans and everyone.

“That line, It’s so typical of me to talk about myself, I’m sorry” – that’s my favorite lyric I’ve ever written.

“Send My Love (to Your New Lover)”

I got a bass guitar when I was 15 years old. I used it to cover my favorite song ‘Wonderful World’.

With two talented producers Max Martin and Shellback, we brought those old melodies back into this album.

“I Miss You”

Every time this song is played, I am always fascinated by its melodies. “I miss you” is just an intimate saying found in every relationship, not necessarily only in love.

For many people, they only remember the best things. But to me, it is a sentimental statement filled with longing for everything in memory of a person, regardless of whether it is good or bad.

“When We Were Young”

When I sing ‘When We Were Young’, I go back to the days when I was 17 years old with my friends.

Although I had never felt such emotions before when I wrote this song. But every time I listen and sing this song later, different memories come rushing back to my mind. It’s like a music tape replaying my life in my youth.

“Water Under the Bridge”

This song is written about the relationships in my life. In any relationship, there are ups and downs and breakdowns. I feel overwhelmed by the complications that relationships cause. But I think once I get through it all, it will make me feel stronger.

“River Lea”

River Lea is the name of a river that flows through where I grew up in Tottenham, North London. I have memories of a childhood in Tottenham. There is a saying that you can take a girl away from Tottenham but you cannot take the image of Tottenham out of that girl’s mind.

Even though I know I’m not a changeable person, the reality is I no longer live in Tottenham. But if anyone from Tottenham meets me, they will easily recognize that I am also from the same land as them.

“All I Ask”

This song is not about my relationship now or any specific relationship I have had in the past. I wrote that this song with Bruno Mars, we both simply wrote a song as naturally as possible. And it’s a lovely song.

“And I think that line — ‘It matters how it ends’ ” is a line for me and all my friends. It’s what we always say when we feel something broken is about to happen.

Then what will happen if one day everything suddenly ends, how can we escape from those seemingly familiar things…
