‘England’s Nightingale’ Adele may stop touring forever?
Will the 30-year-old singer never perform live again?
Recently, according to some sources, singer Adele has filed to voluntarily dissolve her company Remedy Touring LLP . The story would not be worth mentioning if this were not a unit established to serve and manage the huge profits from her million-dollar tours. Therefore, this decision is entirely likely to mean: Adele may stop touring forever .
Will we no longer be able to see ‘England’s nightingale’ performing on the live stage anymore?
According to published documents, the company’s profits as of January revealed that the female artist earned 142 million pounds just from shows in 2016 and 2017.
This is a worthy result for the Rolling in the Deep singer’s tireless efforts to have energetic performances for 123 consecutive nights, serving more than 1,500,000 audiences during the Adele Live Tour series. Therefore, the decision to stop performing this time (if true) is very regrettable as there are few artists who have the same charisma as Adele.
On the other hand, for many Daydreamers (Adele’s fan community), this is not too surprising information because Adele has opened up about this ‘earth-shattering’ decision several times. Previously, in June 2017, the 30-year-old singer warned her fans that she would likely never see them again on any tour again when the owner of the hit Hello announced that she will take a break to focus on taking care of his 5-year-old son.
In her goodbye letter, she shared: ‘I know I’m quite extreme with fame and all that doing this but that’s simply me. That’s because I want to surprise everyone. I want to be the element of surprise every time I come back but it’s hard to maintain that.
I will rest and fulfill my responsibilities as a mother for a while. I will always be about that (family) but I will always write music, release it and I hope that you will be right here. Maybe I’ll never see you guys again at another live show, who knows, but I’ll always remember this for the rest of my life.’
‘The English Nightingale’ also included a handwritten note during one of her performances at Wembley Stadium, revealing that going on tour ‘didn’t suit’ her at all: ‘ So it’s been 15 months on the road and 18 months of album 25 being released. We are almost at the end of the road. Touring is quite tiring and doesn’t suit me very well. I’m truly the type of person who is family-oriented and gets joy from small things. More than that, I’ve had a pretty terrible but also great history of touring. It’s still the same now.
I have completed 119 shows and only have 4 final shows left before reaching 123. This is difficult but also extremely exciting. I have never done a tour like this for you guys and am so lucky to have you as my motivation. I want my last tour to be in London because I’m not sure if I’ll tour again and I want my last tour to be in my hometown.’
Obviously, Adele’s action to close the company this time has shown her strongest determination to stop her tours. Hopefully, in the future, she will change her decision so that our audience can still witness top-notch live performances like before.
