Kristen Stewart talks about the ‘heartbreaking pain’ of breaking up with Pattinson
The actress first opened up about her broken love story with her ‘Twilight’ co-star 2 years ago.
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson broke up in May 2013, a few months after Kristen was spotted kissing Snow White director and hunter Rupert Sanders. At that time, Kristen was extremely depressed and emaciated because Pattinson decided to leave her. Kristen kept quiet about her breakup all this time and only opened up during a conversation at the Toronto film festival last weekend. Sharing with reporters from The Daily Beast , the 25-year-old star recalled: “It was terrible pain, it seemed to kill me.”Kristen and Robert Pattinson were together for 4 years before breaking up in May 2013.
Kristen tried to bury the pain by burying herself in work. In film projects, she devoted special attention to the movie Equals , co-starring with actor Nicholas Hoult in Japan. Coincidentally, at that time, Nicholas had just broken up with Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence, so they both felt the same pain. Kristen confided: “It was really an ideal time for Nicholas and I to film this movie. Not all of my friends or people my age have experienced what I have experienced.”
Nicholas Hoult has the same feeling as Kristen because he also just broke up with Jennifer Lawrence.
Kristen and Nicholas’s negative mood at that time unintentionally helped them better immerse themselves in their characters in the movie Equals – a movie about a future world when people no longer know all emotions, but one day something happens. A strange virus has caused the boy (played by Nicholas) to regain his feeling of love and infatuation with his friend Nia (played by Kristen Stewart). Kristen shared about how she transferred her pain into the film: “The things we went through were very scary. Why try to question and torment about it? Usually we all want to shake those feelings away. but in this case, at least we can use it for good purposes. This movie is a process of contemplation, finding out how to love someone when the character’s emotions arise and explode. , when they realize that the images and emotions in broken dreams can become reality.”
Kristen believes that her new film can help people who have suffered in love to heal their wounds like hers and find new love: “If you were hurt by a breakup and felt extremely It’s so bad to see that person walking hand in hand with someone on the street, let me tell you, don’t believe that you’re in for a damn year. Everything is just the beginning in life’s many feeling”.
