McAfee publishes keyword list “Most dangerous celebrity” on Google: Avril Lavigne is the first name called

Among famous people, these are the two most dangerous names when you use Google – the world’s most popular search engine.

When using Google, you probably understand that there are some keywords (like “sex” for example) that can put you in danger from technology criminals around the world.

However, even the names of famous people are taken advantage of by hackers, including the most “dangerous” faces. This is clearly shown in recent research from McAfee – a very famous American technology security brand.

The most dangerous name today is Avrill Lavigne

Specifically, McAfee has announced the list of “Most Dangerous Celebrities” for the 11th year, and the most dangerous name is Canadian singer – Avril Lavigne . Accordingly, the keyword Avril Lavigne can easily lead you to websites containing dangerous viruses and malware, with a rate of 14.5%. The number will jump to 22% if accompanied by the phrase “free mp3”.

Previously in the 10th year of the list, the top figures on the list were Amy Schumer and Emma Watson. This year, Avirl Lavigne leads the way, followed by Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Zayn Malik and Celine Dion.

“We surf the web to find information about celebrities, new songs, or even just to interact with our idols. And cybercriminals, they know that,” McAfee explained . “They secretly installed attack tools on famous people’s websites too.”

But why Avril? According to McAfee’s explanation, the first reason comes from a strange conspiracy theory, claiming that the real Avril Lavigne died in 2003, and the current person is just an impersonated version, named Melissa. Although it sounds absurd, it seems that this conspiracy theory also attracts many “young sheep” into the trap, then leads them to unsafe websites.

Bruno Mars ranked 2nd on the list, perhaps because his music is so famous

The second reason is because at the end of 2016, Lavigne announced a new album would be released at the end of 2017. It is now near the end of the year, so it is understandable that searches for her increased.

Most netizens still look for sources to listen and download music for free. Taking advantage of this point, hackers can install malware on devices to steal victims’ information.

So how can you stay safe when surfing the web and using Google? McAfee advises that you should be careful what you are about to click on. In addition, consider using reputable and effective anti-virus software.
