Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy Share Their First Holiday Photos as Family of Four: ‘Someone Pinch Me’

Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy are sharing a special moment for their family.

On Thursday, the Dancing with the Stars pros shared their family’s holiday photos on Instagram, posing outside with their family of four. Murgatroyd, 37, smiles and holds their son Rio, 6 months, up by his arms, posing next to Chmerkovskiy, 43, who holds Rio’s feet.

Behind the couple, son Shai, 6, places a hand on each of his parents’ heads, smiling big.

Shai and Rio also posed for a special sibling shot, with Shai holding his younger brother in his lap. Murgatroyd even included an adorable shot of herself with both her boys, sitting on a tree.

“Happy Holidays from our family to yours ❤️ Seeing us as a family of 4 makes me well up every time🥹 someone pinch me….” she wrote in her caption.

Just days after son Rio’s birth, the couple exclusively introduced the little one via PEOPLE and revealed his name.

“We loved Rio, which we came upon at the last minute. It’s a perfect complement to our long surname!” Murgatroyd said at the time. “We also wanted something easy to say with Shai.”
The baby’s middle name, John, is in honor of the Murgatroyd’s late father, Derek John, who died in December 2022.

In September, Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy chatted with PEOPLE exclusively about life as a newly minted family of four after welcoming son Rio in June.

“It’s been amazing,” Murgatroyd said of their transition to a family of four. “I mean, so busy, chaotic at times, but amazing and beautiful. I just love this stage. I mean, it’s so precious. It’s so delicate and you don’t ever get these stages back.”

“So I’m leaning into just being super present and being there for my boys,” the pro dancer said. “We’re a house full of boys right now. We really thought he was a girl though. We really did.”

“We wanted him to be a girl,” Chmerkovskiy agreed as Murgatroyd added, “He’s our special boy.”

Later that fall, Murgatroyd opened up about how supportive her husband has been when it comes to looking after their two sons while she competed on Dancing with the Stars.

“He’s on daddy duty full time right now,” said the mom of two, who was partnered with The Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams. “He’s trick-or-treating with Shai. So it’s the first year I haven’t actually been there, but he’s doing a great job.”
