The world’s ugliest dog passed away
The world-famous ugly dog has passed away at the age of 17 after having a “brilliant career” in the entertainment industry.
Ellie – a hairless, bulging-eyed Chinese dog – died yesterday in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, USA. “Ellie’s passing was not unexpected,” said Dawn Goehring, the dog’s owner.
This dog won first prize at the World’s Ugliest Dog contest in 2009 thanks to her tongue that always sticks out, her bare body and her skin with many bumps.

American press said Ellie appeared in shows at the Comedy Barn comedy stage in Pigeon Forge. It also appeared in the program “Dogs 101” on US TV’s Animal Planet animal world channel. In addition, Ellie also participates in commercials.
Pigeon Forge Mayor Keith Whaley last year declared November 12 as “Miss Ellie Day” to honor the contributions of Ellie and her owner to society. Over the years, Ellie has helped raise more than $100,000 for the Sevier County Humane Society.
It is expected that Ellie will be cremated.
