When Katy Perry was 16, the singer lost her virginity “in the front seat of a Volvo sedan while listening to Jeff Buckley’s album Grace.” She confesses this in a GQ cover story. The Firework siren also reveals that she once prayed to God for, uhh, a new chest. “I lay on my back one night and looked down at my feet, and I prayed to God. I said, ‘God, will you please let me have boobs so big that I can’t see my feet when I’m lying down?’” It turns out, when she was 11, she was blessed. “I had no clue they would fall into my armpits eventually.”

But back to that whole virginity thing. Grace?! In the front seat of a Volvo?! Here are some other celebrities who have documented doing the deed for the first time.

Lena Dunham: This sounds like an episode of Girls. In her sophomore year of college, Dunham lost her virginity to a friend after a party in her dorm. “I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and just went for it. I removed my shirt almost immediately, and he seemed fairly impressed,” she said. “Wearing just a too-tight slip-skirt from the local Goodwill, I hopped up to get the condom from the ‘freshman survival pack’ we had been given (even though I was a sophomore).”

Tina Fey: Fey waited till she was 24. She said she “couldn’t give it away. I remember bringing people over in high school to play that game, Celebrity. That’s how I successfully remained a virgin well into my 20s, bringing gay boys over to play Celebrity.” She wound up losing it to her husband. “That’s just good, Christian values, or being homely.”

Shia LaBeouf: Not so smooth, Shia. “I was shaking in my boots. Getting naked was very strange. It was the first time I’d been naked in the light, in front of a girl, with no hiding place. I remember putting a pillow underneath her because I had seen that in a porn movie…[It] put her at a weird angle, where I couldn’t get in correctly. I’m not extremely well-endowed…and clearly this wasn’t the move.”

Beyoncé: She waited till Jay Z. “People would be surprised as to the lack of experiences I’ve had,” she said. “When I was 12, 13 I had my first boyfriend, and he was my boyfriend till I was 17. At that age, that was a long time. I’ve always been very loyal and a little more mature. Though I was too young for it to really be a boyfriend—we didn’t live together, we didn’t, you know . . . That was my only experience with a guy, and since then I’ve only had one other boyfriend in my life—Jay.”

James Franco: “Her name was Jasmine,” he told Playboy in 2011. “We went out freshman year and then I blew it. She kind of got over me, but we got back together at the beginning of junior year and dated for two years. She was my first real relationship.” He claims he was “awkward, shy and emotionally immature” in high school.

Johnny Depp: Only thirteen years old, Depp lost his virginity to a groupie. (Of course he was in a band). At the time he was doing “every kind of drug there was by fourteen, swiped a few six-packs, broke into a few classrooms, just to see what was on the other side of that locked door.” Oh, and it was in a car, too. What a badass.

Kevin Jonas: Famous for his purity ring promise, Kevin (unlike his brother Joe) kept it going strong until he married Danielle Deleasea at 22. “After we did it, I was kind of like, that’s it?” Jonas remembers.

Angelina Jolie: “I had started having sex with my boyfriend and the sex and the emotions didn’t feel enough,” she said. So then…“In a moment of wanting to feel closer to my boyfriend I grabbed a knife and cut him. He cut me back. We had an exchange of something and we were covered in blood, my heart was racing. Then whenever I felt trapped, I’d cut myself. I have a lot of scars.”

George Clooney: Clooney opened up to Rolling Stone about his first time, and, while he lost his virginity as a teen, the story of his first orgasm is much better. “I believe it was while climbing a rope when I was six or seven years old. I mean, nothing came out, but all the other elements were there. I remember getting to the top of the rope, hanging off the rope, and going, ‘Oh, my God, this feels great!’” He also describes masturbation as “crucial.”

Jason Segel: All he had to do was lie about writing an Elton John song. “I remember that the first thing I did was find a really not-that-intelligent girl and I told her that I wrote “Your Song,” by Elton John. I was like, “I wrote this for you.” And then, I lost my virginity.”

John Stamos: “I think I was almost 18,” Uncle Jesse recalls, “and none of my friends had really done it yet. I wasn’t a geeky kid, but I was sort of…innocent. And then I was driving home with the sister of the bass player from my high school band, and she dropped her keys in my lap—my crotch area—and went to grab ’em. And I thought, “Oh. This might be on!” And she was this beautiful woman who was maybe five to seven years older than me. So we went to her house, and she was very gentle, and easy, and walked me through it. And it was fantastic! We’re still friends.”
