ARIANA Grande’s boyfriend Ethan Slater has hired a high-powered New York City attorney to divorce his wife Lilly Jay, The U.S. Sun can exclusively report.

Ethan, 31, filed for divorce from Lilly, 31, in New York on Wednesday after five years of marriage.
Now, The U.S. Sun can reveal he has hired “top rated” family law attorney Lisa M. Gardner of Donohoe Talbert LLP.

Meanwhile, it appears Lilly Jay has yet to enlist an attorney.

Lisa, according to her bio, has been selected as a Rising Star by New York Metro Super Lawyers ever since 2014- only five years after being admitted to practice law in 2009.

This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state.

The selection process takes into consideration “peer recognition, professional achievement in legal practice, and other cogent factors.”

Lisa then was part of Hofstra University’s 2016 Outstanding Women in Law for “making a difference for children and families on Long Island,” according to her LinkedIn.

The NYC-based lawyer graduated from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University with a concentration in Child and Family Advocacy.

Prior to that, received her BA in Political Science with a minor in History from University of Michigan.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Despite the New York divorce filing being sealed from the public, it appears that the estranged couple could battle over custody.

TMZ is reporting that Ethan wants to “desperately” co-parent their nearly one-year-old child.

Sources told the outlet that the actor “has been talking to Lilly daily, mostly about their little boy” and “spent a lot of time with his son in London after he had split with Lilly.”

He’s now “determined to have a major presence in the boy’s life.”

TMZ also reported that Lilly is “devastated” that her family has been torn apart and that she and her estranged husband “aren’t on good terms” now that he has moved on to the Thank You, Next singer.

According to sources, the Maryland native feels “betrayed and heartbroken.”

“It’s understandable that emotions are high and it’s hard seeing your ex move on, especially in such a public way, and her friends are trying to protect her.
