It’s like the scene out of a Hollywood script.

Shakira and Gerard Pique’s infamous relationship saga was again thrust into the headlines, but this time for a more hilarious reason.

As noted by Essentially Sports, Shakira won a Latin Grammy Award for her diss track about her ex, Pique, called Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.

It wasn’t her win that made headlines, but more who presented her with the award. With the awards being held in Sevilla, Sergio Ramos was tasked with presenting the award to the Colombian pop star.
The former Real Madrid star and Pique were fierce domestic rivals during their time in La Liga.

What is Shakira’s diss track?

The Colombian singer released the song after the former Barcelona star publicly moved on with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti.

The song, which she worked on with Argentinian DJ Bizarrap, fires many cheap shots at the player without mentioning him by name.

Ramos and Pique’s relationship

Ramos and Pique are veterans of the game and icons of the Spanish national team. Despite being teammates for the national side, the duo were fierce rivals on the domestic front.

Ramos played for Madrid, while Pique represented Barcelona. The two have not seen eye to eye on numerous issues, and at one stage, their relationship was said to be ‘broken,’ Sports Illustrated reported.

As Sports Brief previously reported, Colombian music star Shakira had once again roasted her ex-partner, Piqué in a new song.

The former Barcelona defender, who had recently announced his retirement from football, broke up with the singer in June 2022.

Since their separation, Shakira’s music has included Pique references, who was reportedly caught out for his alleged infidelity.
