The singer from Barranquilla has announced that she does not intend to stop at ‘El Jefe’ and promised more attacks on her ex-partner in future songs.

Shakira acknowledged that at the moment she is “very much in love” with her work at a point in her life where she is squeezing the most out of the pain left by her last relationship.

“I have been surprised by the possibility of being able to make lemonade with the sourest lemons,” said Shakira at Billboard’s Latin Music Week.

The artist revealed that she is “very inspired, with desire” and said that she has prepared new hits that will not leave Gerard Pique in a good light. “There are many things I want to say, things to try musically, but the time will come,” she said.

“It turns out I was less fragile than I thought and music has been my main survival tool. The singer from Barranquilla now lives in Miami, a place that has been a “catharsis” in all this grief she has lived. In addition, she revealed what she felt in her last years in Barcelona, where “many ideas remained in the void”.

The artist describes the city where she spent so many years with her ex-partner as “with one foot on the brake” for her career and confessed that with her move to Miami she has been able to “get out of the mud”.

Finally, she referred to the song that went around the world with the artist Bizarrap, the session Vol. 53 in which she did not hesitate to attack her ex-partner. Shakira recognizes that many people asked her to change the song so that her message would not be so explicit.

“They told me: ‘Change the lyrics, that can’t come out’, and I answered that I’m not a diplomat of the United Nations, I’m a woman, a wounded wolf.
