The Weeknd may have split from Bella Hadid four years ago but fans think he has had trouble letting go… of her voicemails at least.

The 33-year-old Canadian crooner – born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye and has been embroiled in a bit of controversy involving his highly sexually-charged HBO series The Idol – recently performed in Lisbon, Portugal as he left fans wondering who sent him an intimate message.

A TikTok from the concert has surfaced toward the end of his performance of hit Save Your Tears which features a dial tone and a voicemail from a woman many have claimed to be his 26-year-old ex Bella.

The message was: ‘Hey, it’s me. I know it’s been a while but I was just thinking about you and I’m sorry about everything.’

Many fans took to the comments to react to the possible message from his ex as one wrote: ‘He’ll never get over her.’

One even believed that even if it wasn’t actually left by Bella, The Weeknd purposely used the voice of a woman who sounded just like her.

A comment said: ‘even if its not bella. im pretty sure he used the voice knowing that it sounds like bella.’

The Weeknd and Bella were first linked together back in April 2015, and were on and off for years.

They were first rumored to have split the following year in February, and were then back together in 2018.

Before that, started dating Selena Gomez in January 2017 and they ended the romance in October.

It looked as if Bella and Selena were on their way to becoming friends when they followed each other on Instagram.

But then the next day the catwalk stunner has reversed that decision and unfollowed the Wolves songstress once again.

Bella and The Weeknd called it quits again in August 2019 after four years, with sources at the time saying they were in ‘different places.’

The pair reunited in August last year during rehearsals for the MTV VMAs in more exclusive photos obtained by DailyMail.com.

But the singer has since been linked to the actress Angelina Jolie after stepping out numerous dinner dates together.

Last year, a source told UsWeekly: ‘Bella and The Weeknd have been in touch recently.’
