Ariana Grande went on tour during the most truly challenging times of her life. With her long term boyfriend Mac Miller passing away and breaking off her engagement with Pete Davidson, she’s suffered some major losses in just one year.

And she’s been open and honest with her fans from the start about her grief. Yet somehow, the 26 year old mega star is handling her losses with absolute grace.

Her album Thank you, next and Sweetener have offered far more than booty shaking jams (although we’re living for those bops). Her albums emerge from a time of grief, change and courage. So obvs some songs are hard for her to perform. And it’s easy to forget the “thank you, next” star has been through heaps of damage in the past two years, given her chart topping hits.

However, Grande has been breaking down in tears during many of her shows while on tour. And after a few incidents of tear jerking performances, she took to Instagram to openly talk about why she’s been struggling during some of her songs.

“i feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when i’m still processing a lot … so sometimes i cry a lot! i thank you for accepting my humanness,” said Grande.

On Saturday, Grande couldn’t get through R.E.M, a song off her Sweetener album. She called on fans to help her out in finishing the song and continued on with the rest of her performance.

Given the circumstances, Grande’s fans are actually a bit concerned for her mental health. However, Ariana Grande ensures fans touring is helping her heal. And we all need to remember grief looks different for everyone, and she’s powering through even though she’s always breaking down. It’s just being human.
