The ‘Single Soon’ songstress announced her relationship with Benny Blanco in a PDA-filled social media post.

Selena Gomez not-so-subtly announced her relationship with boyfriend Benny Blanco this week, but the new couple has apparently been seeing each other for quite some time now.

After the Only Murders in the Building actress, 31, confirmed in a social media comment that she and Blanco, 35, were an item six months before making it Instagram official, sources say she wanted to wait for the right time to tell her followers.

“She feels so safe and secure with him, so she felt like it was a good time to share how happy she is with her fans,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight.

“Benny is a great communicator, is honest and open with Selena, and listens to her,” the sources added. “He’s respectful, isn’t a player, and not in it for the attention or fame. He doesn’t care about any of that and Selena sees that and really trusts him.”

Gomez finally let her fans in on her new romance with an Instagram photo dump on Thursday, featuring a photo of her and the record producer cuddling up together. Her post also featured a shot of her birthday celebrations for bestie Taylor Swift, but it was the last slide of her sharing a passionate kiss with her new man that had her followers freaking out.

“Ekkkkk I’m so so happy for you. You deserve the world,” one commenter wrote under the post, while someone else exclaimed, “We love to see you living your best life!!.”

Thousands of other comments expressed similar joy for Gomez, who insiders say hasn’t been able to fully allow herself to embrace a relationship in a long time.

“Selena feels like she has finally found one of the good guys and it’s been very refreshing for her,” the source stated. “Their feelings for each other are very mutual and they are looking forward to growing their relationship and special bond.”
