Beyoncé‘s Renaissance World Tour asked fans worldwide to attend performances dressed in their best looks. The night before Queen Bey’s July 29 performance in East Rutherford, New Jersey, concertgoer Geselle Valera started to worry about her outfit for the upcoming show. Thankfully, her father came to her rescue.
According to Insider, Valera shared a TikTok video of her father creating a replica of one of Beyoncé’s looks at her tour date on May 10 for her to wear to the concert. In the clip, Valera’s father evaluated part of his creation as she wore it and took it to a sewing machine to make adjustments.
Toward the end of the video, Valera shows off the outfit, which she complemented with silver knee-high boots.
Valera’s father, Jose Peralta, told Insider he’s been sewing since he was 13. Shortly after immigrating to the U.S. in his mid-30s, his side hustle was sewing and tailoring clothes. The money he made from his work on the sewing machine helped pay for his children’s education.
“Without his side job, I wouldn’t have been able to live the life I did or get the education I did,” she told the outlet.
Viewers couldn’t get enough of the look on TikTok, and many praised Peralta’s work in the comments.
“He ate! Giving uncle Johnny made my dress energy 😭🫶🏾,” one fan commented.
“He did great, you look great. Side note from the side he looks like the man Ruben from love and hip hop who had all those car dealerships,” another added.
One even asked, “😍😍😍 Is he taking orders????”
The video garnered 1.1 million views and hundreds of thousands of likes and comments.
Valera told Insider she had no idea her father jumping into action would go viral.
“Running to my father for last-minute assistance was nothing out of the norm for me; he is truly an incredible man,” she said.
Valera added her “father always comes to the rescue.”
