The chart-topping star is hoping to make her big music comeback with Vegas residency after separating from her husband after just over one year of marriage
Heartbroken Britney Spears is planning a huge music comeback amidst her divorce from Sam Asghari.
She has been scoping out a venue for a possible Las Vegas residency, 25 years after storming the global charts as a 16-year-old with her first single, Baby One More Time. The return to Sin City would give fans a sign that the Princess of Pop has put her troubles behind her.
Throughout her previous four-year residency, which kicked off in 2017, she was still under a conservatorship that gave her father Jamie and others legal control of her estate, career and personal life. A source said of Britney’s visit last week to Resorts World Theatre: “Fans are crossing their fingers this means getting to see her again in an epic Las Vegas residency concert. Resorts World has been trying to woo her for a year and Britney feels the time is now right.”

The singer, who is in the midst of divorcing husband Sam, won a high-profile legal battle two years ago – a month before her 40th birthday – when a US judge terminated the conservatorship.
It was imposed in 2008, when she was 26, amid concern for her mental health. That had come 10 years after she stormed the world with …Baby One More Time and a controversial video in which the then pigtailed teen gyrated along school corridors in uniform – including a micro-mini with thigh-high socks, her white shirt open-fronted and tied in a midriff-baring knot. There were accusations that Britney was being made to perform “like a sexual puppet” and the video sparked calls for a boycott of her album and tour from The American Family Association. But it helped the single hit No 1 in the UK and the US after its release on September 28, 1998, and set a first-week record for a female act in the UK with sales of 460,000 copies.

Meanwhile, Britney has reportedly called it quits on her alleged romance with her former housekeeper. She was linked to former employee Paul Richard Soliz following the announcement of her divorce from estranged husband Sam after just over one year of marriage. However the handyman refused to comment on his relationship with Britney, 41, and the pair have reportedly now parted ways.
Paul was recently seen in court for an alleged probation violation, with an insider now claiming that he and mum-of-two Britney are “not dating.” The source said: “They had a short fling after Sam left but that was it. Britney hooked up with him twice and, at the time, she did not know about his criminal past. She no longer has any communication with him.”
The insider also claimed to the Daily Mail that Britney’s team did not carry out a ‘proper background check’ before hiring Paul and his employment ended when the truth was uncovered. They added: “Britney is not dating anyone right now. When she does date again, it is sure as hell not going to be a freeloader and it is not going to be anyone who needs anything from her other than her time.”
Reports surrounding Paul, 37, suggest he has spent time in prison, and has faced charges including disturbing the peace and child endangerment, and felonies including possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm. He was photographed alongside Britney several times over recent weeks.
