Singer Britney Spears, who is known as the “Princess of Pop”, is relieved to not have to pay child support every month to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Because, her eldest son Sean will turn 18 in almost 2 weeks.

“Britney SpearsShe felt relieved that Sean was about to turn 18. She was tired of paying large monthly child support payments to her ex-husband. She is happy to support two children, Sean and Jayden, because she has no regrets for her children. However, when the children turn 18, that help will come directly to them instead of through the control of Kevin Federline,” a source close to the singer shared.

The source added that Britney Spears’ friends think it’s time for Kevin Federline to get a job and not live off of child support from his ex-wife like so long ago. Jayden is also 17 years old now.

Kevin Federline has moved his entire family including Sean, Jayden and four other children to Hawaii where his current wife is said to be working as a teacher. However, some speculate that Britney Spears’s ex-husband did this to carry out a scheme to continue receiving child support money from the singer.

Because according to Hawaii law, parents can collect child support from their ex until the child turns 23 years old if they enroll in a college or vocational school. However, a 2016 amendment also provides that the amount and duration of alimony established in a state have exclusive jurisdiction. That means, if you move to another place, you still have to comply with the regulations from the first setting.

This means, Britney Spears will end Sean’s child support payments to her ex-husband on September 14. She will continue to support Jayden until September 2024.

Currently, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have not commented on the incident. Over the past 15 years, she has had to pay a minimum of 420,000 USD (more than 10 billion VND) per year to her ex-husband to support raising her two sons.

Recently, Britney Spears continued to be shocked when Sam Asghari filed for divorce from her on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

This ex-husband continues to ask for financial support, but this is very unlikely because both have signed a prenuptial agreement with strict regulations.
