is offering up a look at the damage done to her home in the aftermath of a fire she caused in early 2020.
“Reflecting back remembering when I burnt the gym down in 2020!!!,” Spears shared on Instagram Tuesday, along with a photo of weights, dumbbells, and kettlebells covered in dust that were seemingly charred by the blaze.

The “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer previously admitted in a since-expired post that she was responsible for the fire, which she described as an accident.
“Hi guys, I’m in my gym right now. I haven’t been in here for like six months because I burnt my gym down, unfortunately,” Spears said in an Instagram Live at the time.
Just two months into the COVID-19 pandemic, the Grammy Award winner explained that she inadvertently started the blaze by leaving lit candles unattended. In the caption of her video, Spears wrote that she noticed the fire when she “walked past the door to the gym and flames… BOOM!!!!!!”
The blaze led to the activation of the home’s fire alarm system.
Despite the loss of most of her gym equipment, Spears expressed gratitude that “by the grace of God” no one was hurt in the incident.
It wasn’t the first time Spears has had an issue with open flames.
In 2002, E Online reported that Spears nearly burned down an apartment building in New York City when she left a candle burning while she went out with a friend.
