Britney Spears most recently feuded with her mother Lynne Spears over claims that her mother threw out her childhood dolls and journals from her former family home.

But the 41-year-old pop superstar didn’t seem too upset on Tuesday when she shared a playful photo of herself with her 68-year-old mother from a 2004 trip to New York City.

In the throwback snap, Britney and Lynne were both dressed for December’s wintry weather in thick coats and hats, with Britney wearing a voluminous furry white sherpa hat with dangling pom poms.

‘My mamma !!!’ she captioned her post.

Last week, DailyMail.com revealed that Britney’s mother had sued a ‘phony publicist’ who was allegedly trying to get into her inner circle in a ploy to get close to Britney, though it’s unclear if Lynne’s attempts to protect her daughter played a part in Tuesday’s sweet post.

In the 2004 photo, the Toxic singer holds her mouth open as she looks overjoyed, while Lynne also shows off a softer smile.

She wore era-appropriate slim sunglasses, and she wore a furry cheetah-print handbag that complemented her fuzzy coat and furry hat.

The wife of Jamie Spears carried an adorable white dog in her arms, and she had a black leather handbag over her shoulder.

Aside from her photo, Britney didn’t post anything else related to her mother on Tuesday, and she didn’t explain what led to her seemingly positive post.

She was previously said to have reconciled with her mother in May of this year, after her 13-year conservatorship was ended in November 2021.

That month, Lynne was seen arriving at Britney’s home to spend time with her.

The hitmaker also appeared to have more cordial relations with her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears after previously feuding publicly with her over her conduct during her long conservatorship and her claims that the Zoey 101 star was using her sister’s greater fame to add to her own.

However, Britney was reported to be on the outs with her mother again later this year, and a brief thaw with Jamie Lynn, in which Britney claimed to have visited her sister on the set of her Zoey 102 movie, also turned out to be short lived.

Photos from earlier this month that were obtained by DailyMail.com revealed Lynne back home in Kentwood, Louisiana, where she lives.

Her family’s former home in the area, where Britney once lived, was put on the market for an impressive $1.2 million last week.

Part of Lynne’s recent estrangement with her daughter may be related to claims from people close to the pop star that her mother had been selling off her possessions both online and at a local consignment shop in Louisiana in recent years.

Lynne is said to have begun selling Britney’s clothing at Connie’s Jewelry and Gifts around 2018. The shop has a connection to the family, as it is owned by the family of Britney’s childhhod friend Cortney Brabham.

A source close to the Spears family claimed that Lynne had raked in ‘thousands of dollars’ from the sales, while claiming that Britney had ‘no clue’ what was happening.

Among the items allegedly sold was a hat the Stronger singer wore to the Billboard Music Awards in 2000, as well as Butterfly boots featured at the 2003 Kids’ Choice Awards and a top worn for an appearance on MTV’s TRL in 2002.

In Britney’s memoir, The Woman In Me, the singer had claimed that her childhood dolls and journals had been removed, and Lynne subsequently denied having sold the items, saying she wouldn’t be so ‘cruel’ to her daughter.

‘When Britney would come home early in her career, she would unload her clothes at her mom’s house in Kentwood. This also included things she wore on tours and her personal clothes,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively.

‘She has no clue and would be fuming if she did.’

In response to Lynne’s denial, Britney claimed on Instagram that on a more recent visit home, she found several dolls that had previously been missing,

She took their appearance as evidence that her mother had returned or replaced them, though it was too late to be of use to her.

Britney had previously said in her memoir that she believed her family viewed her as little more than a ‘cashflow’ to fund their lavish lifestyles.
