Britney’s behavior online is apparently worrying her team, who don’t think she’s ready for in-depth interviews.
Many Britney Spears fans are excited to hear the singer’s side of the story when she releases her highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman In Me,” which was announced last year and is set to release next month.
In the memoir, it’s expected Britney will go into detail about her conservatorship and relationship with her family as well as past romantic relationships.
However, fans shouldn’t expect a lot of promotional interviews for the memoir, if at all. According to a new report, Britney’s recent behavior online has sparked concern amongst her team, who’re reportedly going to prevent the pop star from giving interviews when the book releases.
Britney’s Team Doesn’t Think She’s Ready For Interviews – And She Agrees
Insider sources have revealed to Page Six that her management team doesn’t believe she is prepared for in-depth interview sessions at this time. Nevertheless, the outlet notes that numerous television networks (including “60 Minutes” on CBS) are vying for an exclusive interview with the pop icon before the launch of the memoir.
But while one source cited Spears’ unconventional Instagram posts as a factor influencing her team’s decision, another source closely connected to the singer maintains that the ultimate decision rests entirely with Britney herself.
“She’s a free woman. She’ll decide. It’s her choice,” the insider said, emphasizing that her team can’t prevent her from speaking to the media. “She’s had offers and she doesn’t want to do anything,” they added.
The source said that Britney’s complicated history with the media is factoring into her decision not to participate in interviews for the memoir. In the past, the former Disney star has been vocal about how difficult it was dealing with the media’s obsession with her as she grew up.
As per the insider, Britney feels her “mental health, sexuality, parenting, and body image [have been] constantly scrutinized” by the press. “They have not been fair to Britney,” they added.
For now, Britney hasn’t addressed the speculation surrounding her reluctance to give interviews.
Britney Is Reportedly Making $15 Million From The Memoir
In February 2022, it was officially announced that Britney had inked a $15 million agreement with Simon & Schuster for the publication of her memoir. The content of the memoir hasn’t been confirmed, but one report said nothing is off-limits.
“Britney will hold nothing back in the memoir,” a source told Us Weekly in March 2022, referring to Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn.
“Britney feels extremely betrayed by Jamie Lynn, as she has expressed publicly,” they continued. “She will lay out that without her, Jamie Lynn would have no career.”
Britney is currently going through a divorce from Sam Asghari, which he initiated in mid-August after 14 months of marriage. There have been accusations that he’s planning to challenge their prenup in order to secure a generous divorce settlement. There have also been rumors that Britney had an affair with an employee, prompting Sam to file for divorce.
With the divorce a very recent revelation, it’s unclear if it will be mentioned in the memoir, or if the book will even address Britney’s long-time relationship with Sam.
