It seems both Justin Timberlake and Timbaland are looking to profit off of the backlash they received from Britney Spears fans following the release of her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”
The now 41-year-old pop star reflected on allegations of infidelity and even an unplanned pregnancy when she dated the “Cry Me A River” singer from 1999 to 2002. Timbaland only recently made headlines when he called the “Toxic” singer “crazy” and joked that JT should have “put a muzzle” on her.
Both have been “canceled” by Britney fans, but it seems they are hoping to turn things around with a new musical hit aimed at addressing the backlash that they’ve faced over the past few weeks.
Justin Timberlake and Timbaland Are Looking To Profit From Britney Spears Book Backlash
Although Justin Timberlake has maintained his silence throughout the ordeal and retreated to Cabo with his family, it appears that he may be teaming up with his longtime collaborator Timbaland – real name Timothy Zachery Mosley – to write a new song in “response to all [of] the haters.”
“Justin is his great friend and Tim is going to protect that relationship at all costs,” a source told the Daily Mail on Thursday night. “Everyone jumps to all sorts of conclusions immediately, and Justin is an easy target right now.”

“Timbaland actually wants to use all this energy and get Justin in the studio to write a song about it all, to give his response to all the haters,” they continued. “They have been writing for a while and have many songs for Justin’s next album, but Timbaland has seen what these last few weeks have turned into and wants to get Justin to let his creative juices flow and make a song that will react to everything and also be a complete banger.”
The former *NSYNC boy bander, 42, has worked with Timbaland, 51, on all five of his studio albums. The pair is also teaming up for a sixth studio album, which is set to be released at the “top of next year.”
Justin Timberlake Intended To Keep Pregnancy A Secret

In her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” Britney revealed that she had an at-home abortion because Justin “didn’t want to be a father.” She revealed that she did not go to see a doctor because they were worried about the secret being leaked to the press. She admitted that she didn’t even tell her family until she had already had an at-home abortion using pills her assistant gave her.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she wrote in her memoir. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”

“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”
“Justin thought that the decision that they made was a decision made together and he intended to never talk about it and for it to be kept their secret forever,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Now that Britney has mentioned it, and it will live forever in her book and whatever else she decides to mention, Justin is going to try not to say anything about it because he knows whatever he says from this point will likely be thrown back right at him.”
Timbaland Apologizes For His ‘Muzzle’ Comments
After Britney Spears’ memoir was released, Timbaland responded to the backlash against JT by saying that he should have “put a muzzle” on the pop star to prevent her from talking. He later posted an apology to X, the social media platform known as Twitter, to issue an apology that some fans dubbed a “second insult.”
In the video, Timbaland says, “I’m sorry to all the Britney fans, even to her. If she never saw the… I’m sorry because muzzle was… no. You have a voice and you speak what you wanna speak. Who am I to tell you when not to speak and I was wrong for saying that but I hope you see it from… I was looking at it from a different lens.”
He concluded, “I apologize to the Britney fans and her and yes, you know, about respecting women, h— yeah.”
