*NSYNC boy bander Lance Bass is providing an update on Justin Timberlake following the backlash the “Cry Me A River” singer received from fans after Britney Spears released her tell-all memoir “The Woman In Me” on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
The former couple dated from 1999 to 2002, but the “Toxic” singer has only now reflected on allegations of infidelity and even an unplanned pregnancy in her tell-all book, which has left fans reeling. Although Lance has asked fans to show Justin a little forgiveness, the backlash has been so swift that Justin felt forced to disable comments on his Instagram page.
Lance Bass Says Justin Timberlake ‘Will Survive’ Britney Spears Memoir Backlash
Although there are calls for the “Mirrors” crooner to be canceled amid the new allegations, Lance Bass felt that Justin would recover from this controversy. When speaking to People magazine on Tuesday, the “Frosted Tips” podcast host told the magazine that “all” of his bandmates are “good.” He went on to say, “People will survive.”
In late October, TMZ caught up with Lance at LAX, who said that he intended to read Britney’s memoir on the plane, so it’s likely that he has already finished the book by now. However, he did address the backlash, saying that fans should forgive Justin because Britney already had.
“I mean, everyone has their own opinion,” he said of the backlash. “I just feel like the world is so full of hate right now that we need to practice a little forgiveness. Britney did. So let’s take a note from her.”
“Everyone deserves to tell their story. She did, and you know, I hope the fans can, again, find some forgiveness, right?” he continued. When asked if he had talked to JT, Lance replied, “I’m not going to talk about my conversation.”

Although the “Gimme More” singer described how she was ready to start a family with “The Social Network” actor when they dated from 1999 to 2002, Britney said that Justin “didn’t want to be a father” when they were faced with an unplanned pregnancy.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she wrote in her memoir. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

In order to keep her pregnancy a secret from the press, Britney confessed in her memoir that she was not seen by any doctors and did not visit a hospital. “It was important that no one find out about the pregnancy or the abortion, which meant doing everything at home,” Britney wrote. “We didn’t even tell my family.”
The only person that she did tell was Felicia Culotta, her former assistant. “The only person who knew besides Justin and me was Felicia, who was always on hand to help me,” Britney explained. “I was told, ‘It might hurt a little bit, but you’ll be fine.’” She wrote, “On the appointed day, with only Felicia and Justin there, I took the little pills. Soon I started having excruciating cramps. I went into the bathroom and stayed there for hours, lying on the floor, sobbing and screaming.”
