Brad Pitt is reportedly planning to adapt the new memoir of Britney Spears, The Woman In Me for big screen. However, this apparent move didn’t fit well with fans who called him out on social media platforms for being hypocritical. He has been engaged in lawsuits with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, over the custody of their children and their French winery.

The high-profile stars started dating in 2005 after they met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. After dating for over a decade, they tied the knot in 2014 but it couldn’t last long as Jolie filed for divorce just after two years into marriage, which was finalized in 2019. While he was under fire after more details about the Brangelina couple came to surface, he made headlines once again as he reportedly eyes on the movie rights of Spears’ new memoir.

Britney Spears released her all-tell memoir, The Woman in Me last month which quickly garnered everyone’s interest as it sold a million copies in its first week. Given that the book carries several exclusive details about her life, the best-selling memoir quickly piqued Hollywood to bring her story to a film.
In her book, the Toxic Singer discussed her career, and her personal life including relationships and marriages and secret abortion with her ex-beau, Justin Timberlake. She also gave an insight on the controversial 13-year conservatorship which was terminated in 2021.
As per reports by Page Six, Brad Pitt is bidding to produce the screen adaptation of her memoir. It is still in its very early stages as bids continue about the same as one insider mentioned, “It’s only beginning to take shape.”
Not just Pitt, Reese Witherspoon is also rumored to be interested in the same as both stars are known to have successful production companies. However, Pitt’s rumored involvement in the memoir’s bidding is getting a major backlash from fans.

As the reports about Pitt’s bidding to take Spears’s story to the big screen surfaced online, fans slammed him for his plans. They highlighted his professional life with a user suggesting (on X) that his production company, Plan B Entertainment, working on the “biopics about mistreated women are not a vehicle for you to repent or mend your public image.”
