Spears’ memoir, ‘The Woman in Me,’ will hit shelves on Oct. 24

Paris Hilton will always be in Britney Spears’ corner.
While chatting exclusively with PEOPLE about her upcoming “Be an Icon” kitchen and home collection with Walmart, the businesswoman, 42, also shares some advice for Spears, 41, who is set to release her memoir, The Woman in Me, on Oct. 24.
Detailing how she is “so proud” of Spears “for telling her story,” Hilton says, “I know how hard it can be doing a memoir because you have to really dive in and think about so many moments in your life that I’m sure you don’t even want to think about.”

“But it is truly such a healing experience, and writing my book, [Paris: The Memoir], has changed my life in so many ways,” she continues. “So I’m really hoping that she feels the same way with this.”
“I am just proud of what a strong woman she is,” Hilton adds of Spears.

PEOPLE exclusively revealed in July that Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, acquired Spears’ memoir after a bidding war among multiple publishing houses.
“Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher, told PEOPLE. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. Promising to reveal “for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” according to a press release from Gallery Books, the “Toxic” singer’s memoir “illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”
The book is “a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope,” the press release continues.
