Tristan Thompson continued to get vulnerable with Kourtney Kardashian Barker about his serial cheating on Khloé Kardashian and his hopes for the future.
On Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, the confrontation about infidelity and disrespect continued as Kourtney, 44, asked Tristan, 32, if he relates to social media posts from fans calling him “a sociopath” and “narcissistic.”
The NBA player took the opportunity to speak with Kourtney to open up about suppressing his emotions in childhood, and how that led him to cheating on Khloé.
When Kourtney asked Tristan what his “goal” is moving forward, the Cleveland Cavalier said, “Would I love to be with your sister and spend the rest of my life with her? Of course. My goal is to have my family back as a whole unit.”
Tristan continued, “Even though I never grew up with a happy household, I’ve always wanted it.”
He then acknowledged that his own actions have led to the downfall of his relationship with the Good American founder. “But, I’ve done things that put me in a position to be out of that,” Tristan said of his dream for a “happy household” with Khloé and their two children, True, 5, and Tatum, 1.
Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson’s Relationship Timeline
Kourtney insisted Tristan learns to take “accountability” during their meeting, and the father of four vowed to “be better” for the entire family.
“I’m a firm believer that if you make a mistake, you have to be accountable for it and stand on two feet. You do the crime, ya gotta own it,” he shared.
“I want to be a good example for them,” Tristan said of his children, adding that he’s acknowledged to Khloe that he knows that it’s his responsibility to be honest with their children. “I always tell Khloé, when it comes to True and having that conversation, it’s on me to have that conversation, because Daddy failed you and Mommy…Mommy didn’t fail you.”
As the conversation progressed, Kourtney suggested that her family’s preference to keep things “fun and happy” can often “take priority over setting a boundary and having someone’s back.”
A vulnerable Tristan admitted he’s “not proud of the person I used to be,” but is “of course” proud of “the person I’m becoming” while speaking with Kourtney.

“In order for that to happen, I had to fall, hit rock bottom, lose everything in life….you’ve got to pick your s— up. You’ve got to be better. I needed to grow so I can be better for my kids,” he said.
In Thursday’s confessional, the Poosh founder reflected on her conversation with Tristan and said she wasn’t there “to hold a grudge” against him. “I do believe that people can grow,” Kourtney said, adding that she finds “the work he’s doing” and “path that he’s on” to be “interesting.”
The mother of four admitted it’s “concerning” whenever “your words don’t match your actions,” and she’s eager to see more growth from Tristan. Khloe said it’s “interesting” that the “work he’s doing
“Talk is cheap,” she added.
Kourtney explained that the Kardashian clan “can tend to normalize these behaviors of some of the men in our lives,” regarding infidelity and trust, “and I don’t want to show my daughter that that’s ok.”
“I think having forgiveness and giving grace is right, but also, having really clear boundaries is really important,” Kourtney concluded.

Khloé and Tristan began dating on and off in 2016. He cheated on her multiple times, including once just days before their daughter, True, was born and another time with Jordyn Woods in 2019 while he and Khloé were still together.
Years later, they gave their romance another shot. But it was later revealed in December 2021 that Tristan had fathered a child with Maralee Nichols around the same time he and Khloé were secretly expecting their second child via surrogate.
Khloé officially ended their relationship months before the birth of their son, Tatum, in August 2022 and has since emphasized repeatedly that she has no intention of getting back together.
