Spears’ memoir, The Woman In Me, is slated to be released on Oct. 24.

Britney Spears’ forthcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, is already on everyone’s must-read list — though if Christina Aguilera had her way, we won’t be reading about her in it.

The Grammy winner was on Jimmy Kimmel Live discussing her new Vegas residency when the host asked if Aguilera was hoping if she would be in the highly anticipated book.

“Am I hoping? I’m hoping that everything is all good with her and everything’s beautiful,” Aguilera said diplomatically. “I think the future should be celebrated.”

Kimmel then asked if the “Dirrty” chanteuse had a choice between being and not being in the memoir, what would she choose. Aguilera laughs off the question but there’s definitely a side-eye or two in her reaction, as she asks, “For real, for real?”

Kimmel, however, has his own “for real” hopes of being mentioned and Aguilera notes she would “rather it be you than me.”

“So hopefully you’ll be in it,” she adds. “You’ll make the book.”

If we’re being for real, for real, there’s little to no chance that Aguilera isn’t at least mentioned in The Woman in Me, considering how long she and Spears have been linked in the public imagination.

From their time on The New Mickey Mouse Club to their oft-touted rivalry as teen pop sensations to, of course, their respective lip-locks with Madonna at the 2003 VMAs. During Spears’ protracted conservatorship battle, Aguilera spoke out in support of her former fellow Mouseketeer, saying that it was “unacceptable” that Spears wasn’t allowed to be in control of her own life.

But things took a sour turn in their relationship, at least their digital relationship, when Aguilera unfollowed Spears on Instagram after the latter made apparent body-shaming comments about the once and future genie in a bottle.

Spears later clarified her comments, saying she would “never intentionally body shame anybody” and thanked Aguilera, calling her “a beautiful woman of power,” for “inspiring” her.

So after all that, it’s pretty likely Christina Aguilera is at least a woman in The Woman in Me.
