Canadian rapper Drake, famous for songs like One Dance, God’s Plan, In My Feelings, and more, recently faced quite a loss.
He had bet on Nigerian-New Zealand mixed martial artist, Israel Adesanya in the UFC 281, held at Madison Square Garden in New York. All this is blamed on the ‘Drake Curse’, meaning that if any sports team or athlete faces bad outcomes in their next match after having met Drake, the blame is on him.
Drake lost the bet he placed on Izzy, the Nigerian bruiser
The UFC 281, which was between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira, was a stunning tussle to watch. The fight was a 5-round main event. “Poatan”, which is a Brazillian nickname for Pereira, meaning “Solid Hand” had two wins over “The Last Stylebender”, Adesanya before this event already. Now, having faced him and lost two times before, this was a chance for Adesanya to get back at Pereira. Unfortunately, he got defeated in the fifth round by technical knockout (TKO).

B/R Betting tweeted about his loss on Twitter:
This is not what Drake had expected, as he had bet on Alex Pereira’s defeat but was proved wrong. Pereira’s win was a difficult one as he had been struggling in the rounds prior to the fifth one. If Adesanya would have won, Drake would have gotten a total payout of about $678,196.
Drake won with Her Loss but lost to Pereira’s Win
Drake recently released Her Loss, which topped the list of Top 100, taking over Taylor Swift’s Midnights. He collaborated with 21 Savage on this new album, which had about 404,000 sales in the first week in the United States alone. Although he had a good win in his singing career, his guessing skills are not impressive. The Drake Curse is seemingly a real thing after all.

The Drake Curse is a devastating phenomenon for Drake himself.
The hitmaker has been placing bets in many sports like football and basketball. He started betting publicly on American mixed martial arts in March where he wagered on Jorge Masvidal, a total of $275000 but had to see him lose the fight. Looks like Her Loss was a hit obviously but Drake is at “His Loss” when it comes to placing bets!
