Xaylen weighs over 2 stone (28 pounds), which has raised concerns about his rapid growth since birth. At just six months old, he was already fitting into 12-18 month clothes, and now he’s big enough to share clothes with his four-year-old brother, Judah. Surprisingly, Xaylen was a very typical eight pounds at birth, despite his current size.

Salitza Richard, an athlete trainer from Dallas, Texas, jokingly attributes her increased bicep size to Xaylen’s size and the fact that he took a long time to start walking. She believes her son will be tall when he grows up and has already received interest from sports teams.

Salitza recalls the astonishment of witnessing Xaylen’s rapid growth. He consistently measured above the 100th percentile during doctor visits. Despite being petite herself (standing at 5’4″) and having a husband who is 5’9″, they are well aware that Xaylen will surpass them in height.

Describing him as a “bowling ball,” Salitza acknowledges the contrast between Xaylen and his older brother, who was always in the lower percentile. Now, at just over a year old, Xaylen and Judah wear the same size clothes. His growth rate has been astonishing, necessitating frequent clothing size changes.

Salitza believes that Xaylen’s size has delayed his ability to walk. However, now that he has learned to run around, he is thoroughly enjoying it. Despite people often mistaking him for being older than he actually is, Xaylen is now walking at 18 months old, whereas Judah started walking at 10 months. Salitza attributes this delay to his size, causing a slight developmental lag.

With his playful nature and sturdy physique, Xaylen hardly gets hurt. In fact, he tends to bump into Judah, who ends up being the one to cry. His happy demeanor and voracious appetite earn him the nickname of a “bowling ball.” Xaylen is content as long as there is food, and he happily eats whatever Judah leaves behind.

People who encounter Xaylen for the first time often comment on his size, mistaking him for being much older. However, their friends and acquaintances are amazed by the contrast, especially considering their first child was much smaller.

Salitza agrees with these comments and expresses her own astonishment. She often says, “I don’t know what’s happening; we’re just rolling with it.” She finds joy in experiencing the stark differences between her two sons and embraces the uniqueness of their journey so far.

On one occasion, when they were going on a holiday, Salitza was asked to purchase a ticket for Xaylen as people couldn’t believe he was under one year old, let alone two. This misunderstanding persisted even when they questioned if he was too old to be seated on her lap.

Given Xaylen’s physical attributes and his joyful nature, he has already been recognized as a potential future athlete. Salitza’s husband, who works with NFL athletes, and high schools where she also trains, have shown interest in Xaylen joining their teams. He has already been scouted, much to their amusement.
