Two years ago, Kanye, 46, teamed up with award-winning architect, Tadao Ando, to turn the property into his dream home to share with his four children: North, 10, Saint, eight, Chicago, five, and Psalm West, four.
Inside the luxe Los Angeles home is completely concrete.
However, Kanye completely renovated the place, got rid of the entire interior, and has now been left empty.
The rooms are abandoned without any sort of finishing to protect the foundation.
The Flashing Lights rapper has decided to leave the home as is and put it on the market, asking for about $4million less than what he paid for.
“It’s priced to reflect the need for the interior finishes to be replaced. On the positive, it can be brought up to 2024 standards, it was built about 10 years ago,” real estate agent Jason Oppenheim said.
Jason – of the Oppenheim Group – is the agent in charge of selling the home.
He continued: “The architectural integrity of Tadao Ando’s work exists today. He’s largely known for his concrete work and the significant cost of this house is in the concrete work.”
KANYE’S ROLLERCOASTER HOME HISTORY
In September, Kanye faced a lawsuit from a employee due to the home’s apparent rotting conditions and his supposed treatment of his workers.
The U.S. Sun obtained a copy of the lawsuit filed by Tony Saxon in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleging that Kanye fired his former project manager for refusing to remove all the windows and electricity in the home.
He reportedly instructed Tony to move large generators into the home, but his employee “expressed concerns about the extreme danger of such actions.”
As a result, the rap music star reportedly told Tony he would be “considered an enemy if he did not comply” and eventually told him to “get the hell out.”
The lawsuit further noted: “When Plaintiff refused to engage in unlawful conduct or to engage in activity that would further cause him physical injury, Mr. Ye responded: ‘If you don’t do what I say, you’re not going to work for me, I’m not gonna be your friend anymore and you’ll just see me on TV,'” to which Tony said he didn’t watch TV.
Kanye ended up firing Tony on November 5, 2021, for not following his requests.
Tony worked for Kim Kardashians’ ex-husband for two months, also as his security guard and caretaker of the property.
According to the lawsuit, Tony claimed that Kanye promised to pay him $20,000 a week but has yet to give him what he is owed.
Tony also claimed that he was working 16-hour days and sleeping on the floor while coordinating the renovation.
The lawsuit said Tony is suing Kanye for multiple labor code violations, unpaid wages, and wrongful retaliatory termination.
‘I’M STILL HURT’
In an exclusive interview with The US Sun, Tony revealed he was left alone in the open-air structure that Kanye wanted to turn into an off-the-grid bunker.
Tony claims he was the only one with keys after Kanye fired his other security staff, and that he was “exhausted” from doing numerous jobs and had to sleep on the floor on a makeshift bed.
He further alleged that he injured his back and the star wouldn’t let him take time off to recover.
“I was injured on site. I’m still injured. I’m still hurt. I’m never going back to that particular line of work, in any capacity, ever again, because I can’t physically,” he claimed.
KANYE’S RESPONSE
Kanye has taken the lawsuit very seriously – and is hiring the best of the best.
New court documents obtained by The U.S. Sun show Kanye has hired London Meservy of Meservy Law, P.C., a top attorney in San Diego who has been repeatedly recognized as a SuperLawyer.
Kanye’s counsel has filed a nine-page response to the complaint as Saxon claims he is owed $1 million in unpaid wages and damages.
It reads: “Defendant denies generally and specifically each and every allegation contained in the complaint, and each and every purported cause of action contained in the complaint and specifically denies that Plaintiff has sustained any injury, damage, or loss by reason of any act, omission or breach by Defendant and denies that Plaintiff is entitled to any or all of the relief requested in the complaint.”
A hearing for this case has been set for January 2024.
