The rapper bought a building in LA’s Northridge despite a petition signed by thousands
KANYE West has only just returned to Los Angeles after several months of globe-trotting, and he has some cleaning up to do.
The 46-year-old rapper snapped up a $1.5 million plot from Cornerstone Christian Church in Northridge, Los Angeles, back in March of this year.

He reportedly planned to move his ill-fated Christian school Donda Academy to the building, situated at the back of the main church.
Thousands petitioned to not have him lease any space at the church after conversations with former Pastor Roland Nagin, but he ended up purchasing it.
And now new photographs exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun show Kanye has let the area rot as the main house has been left empty for months.
Property documents for the same address as the snaps show he bought two parcels of land at the location under his Blue Spruce Trust, with ‘Ye’ listed on the papers.
This week, three empty shopping carts were seen in the front garden of the building, two of which had been flipped upside down.
All of the windows have been boarded up with large planks of wood, and an item of broken light fitment was discarded outside of the front door.
In one photograph, a blue trash bin was full to the rim with garbage situated near the gravel driveway.
The building is surrounded by large trees, weeds, and patches of brown grass, showing it hasn’t seen much love from a gardener in some time.
The land has become an eyesore and neighbors have been left less than impressed.
One said: “I had no idea Kanye bought it but … it’s not a good look for the neighborhood, he needs to clean it up, you don’t want a bum breaking in and living there.”
AN EYESORE
Another added: “I see someone come and check the property every few weeks to make sure it’s OK, but they haven’t done anything to it, it’s been empty for months.”
Documents show Pastor Nagin, listed in documents as an unmarried individual, used to reside at the property before Kanye bought it and Nagin moved on to another church.
Kanye’s main firm Yeezy LLC, along with Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Footwear, Yeezy Marketing, and Yeezy Record Label are all registered at the address.
Official records for each have either been signed by Kanye or his new wife Bianca Censori.

In a recent BBC documentary, The Trouble with Ye, journalist Mobeen Azhar revealed he visited Cornerstone when Kanye was still planning to run for president again.
He claimed Kanye had seamstresses making Yeezy clothing in the building at the back of the church and was also using the space as his election campaign headquarters.
The rapper even bizarrely hired a homeless man called Mark, who had been living in a car in the parking lot of the church for years, as his 2024 Presidential Election Campaign Manager.
Kanye has since given up on his plan to run for office and also spent $6.7 million on a huge commercial building in West Hollywood, which has also seen little action.
GROUP’S PETITION
More than 12,000 people signed a petition to stop Kanye from moving to Cornerstone, and a group wrote an open letter to Pastor Nagin pleading with him to turn the rapper away.
The petition was launched by a group called Faithful America last December, which bills itself as “the largest online community of grassroots Christians acting for social justice.”
The group stated: “Ye, the rapper previously known as Kanye West, has been losing sponsors and contracts left and right over his harmful antisemitism – yet one California pastor says Ye’s recent hatred isn’t a dealbreaker for their Christian business partnership.
“On December 1, Ye clutched a Bible and shockingly said ‘I see good things about Hitler’ and ‘I like Hitler’ during an appearance on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s show InfoWars. He has previously tweeted other threats and conspiracy theories about Jewish people.”
The letter to Nagin further read: “As your fellow Christians, we strongly object to the possibility of Cornerstone Church renting space to Ye (Kanye West).
“There is no room in God’s house for hatred. Allowing Ye’s Donda Academy to operate out of a place of worship would give it and him credibility that at this point they do not deserve.
“As your siblings in Christ, we ask you not to host Ye’s unaccredited private school on your church grounds.”
The U.S. Sun has reached out to the church and Kanye’s team since the sale but did not receive a reply.
The rapper’s $15,000-a-year private school, which is believed to be out for Christmas break, is still holding classes at a warehouse space in San Fernando Valley.
Meanwhile, Kanye is now said to be back in Los Angeles for the first time in months after spending time traveling with Bianca.
They have been jetting from Japan to Italy to the Middle East as Kanye recorded his latest album, Vultures, with Ty Dolla $ign.
But despite telling fans it would drop on December 15, it has not yet materialized on streaming services, following yet another antisemitic outburst at a listening party in Las Vegas.
