Kim Kardashian posted a throwback gag video to Instagram this week – one that included an apparent dig at Taylor Swift.

During her marriage to her third husband Kanye West, Kim, 42, became entangled in his long-running feud with Taylor, 33.

This Friday the reality star posted a set of old clips to Instagram to wish her family friend Harry Hudson a happy 30th birthday.

The montage was a set of Snapchat videos forming a comedy sketch about Kim ordering around her star-studded entourage.

At one point she asks one of her team to play some music – and on comes Kanye’s song Famous, which was notoriously scathing about Taylor and set off the controversy that brought Kim into their spat.

Kim had assembled a glittering cast for the gag video, including her then-husband Kanye West as well as the fashion designer Virgil Abloh.

Various members of her personal circle were also involved in the sketch, including her then assistant Stephanie Shepherd.

Famous came out in 2016 and Stephanie left Kim’s employ the following year, so the video was presumably made in the intervening time.

At any rate Kim was clearly still with Kanye at the time, as at one point she refers to herself as being married to ‘Pablo,’ in a tip of the hat to his album The Life Of Pablo.

Famous, which was part of The Life Of Pablo’s track-list, included Kanye’s memorable jab at Taylor: ‘I made the b**** famous.’

The line was a reference to the explosive start of their feud in 2009, when Kanye bounded up onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards and cut off Taylor’s acceptance speech in order to shower praise on Beyoncé.

When Famous dropped in 2016, Taylor and her Swifties were quick to take umbrage, prompting Kim to enter the fray.

Kim publicly denounced Taylor as a ‘snake’ for claiming she had no idea that Kanye would use the line: ‘I made that b*** famous.’

James Corden pokes fun at Kanye West phone call with Taylor Swift

At that time, Kim leaked a video of Kanye’s phone call to Taylor in which he floated her his lyric: ‘I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.’

The video suggested Taylor had lied about not being warned about the song, and she received a massive public blowback as a result.

Her social media battering is thought to be part of the reason that Taylor subsequently took a hiatus from music.

She made her grand return in 2017 with her score-settling song Look What You Made Me Do, whose music video made multiple scathing references to the ‘Kimye’ feud.

At one point Taylor mimes shooting a gun while sitting in a tub filled with diamonds – in a moment believed to be a joke about Kim’s Paris robbery, when the reality star was thrown bound and gagged into the bath as the burglars seized her jewelry.

Early in 2020 as the COVID-19 lockdowns swept America, the feud bubbled up again when a fuller video emerged of Kanye’s phone call with Taylor about Famous.

Over the course of the video, Kanye fails to consult Taylor on the ‘b***h’ lyric or the suggestion that he ‘made her famous.’

The clip also shows the rapper asking the pop star if she could share the song on her Twitter account.

Taylor’s ‘Swifties’ seized on the video as proof that their idol had been vindicated, and the clamor on social media became so intense that Kim issued a response.

Kim Kardashian steps outside to film KUWTK after TSwift video

Kim accused Taylor of ‘lying’ and sneered at her for deciding ‘to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now.’

She claimed: ‘“To be clear, the only issue I ever had around the situation was that Taylor lied through her publicist who stated that “Kanye never called to ask for permission…” They clearly spoke so I let you all see that. Nobody ever denied the word “b****” was used without her permission.

Kim added: ‘At the time when they spoke the song had not been fully written yet, but as everyone can see in the video, she manipulated the truth of their actual conversation in her statement when her team said she “declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.”‘

She doubled down: ‘The lie was never about the word b****, It was always whether there was a call or not and the tone of the conversation.’

However, at the time of the controversy, a spokeswoman for Taylor disputed those claims.

‘Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message,’ she explained. ‘Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, “I made that b**** famous.”‘

By the following year, Kim had filed for divorce from Kanye, following his rollercoaster presidential campaign and public meltdown.

Late last year Kanye saw his career implode after a string of antisemitic outbursts including a vow to ‘go death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.’
