Will Smith was driven by the desire to be the biggest movie star on the planet. He achieved his goal by starring in blockbuster films. For years, he has been synonymous with movie office success, with films such as the Men in Black and Bad Boys series, Independence Day, Aladdin, and Hancock. Despite all the success, the actor had a major regret in his life.

In the season three finale of Kevin Hart’s Peacock TV show, Hart to Heart, the 54-year-old spoke candidly about the unhappiness his family experienced during the early stages of their rising success. Smith revealed he honestly believed he had fulfilled his lifelong dreams after seeing his kids follow a profession in the entertainment sector.

His two children, Jaden, and Willow Smith, rose to stardom at an early age. The Men In Black star said,
“2010 was like the greatest year as an artist, as a parent. Karate Kid came out in June, Whip My Hair came out in October. I’m building this dream of a family I’ve had in my mind. ‘I’m going to do it better than my father did it.’ We’ve talked about it, my father was abusive.”
The Independence Day actor had a vision of an ideal family and believed that from 2010 to 2012 he had achieved the dream. But despite that, his family was not happy. Smith added,
“Yet, nobody in my family was happy. No one wanted to be in a platoon. Willow was the first one to begin the mutiny and it was my first realisation that success and money don’t mean happiness. Up until that point, I really believed that you could succeed your way, to a house and a family, and you could win your way to happiness.”
Although Will Smith’s children’s careers were taking off, they have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the actor’s decision to thrust them into the spotlight at such a young age.
