Will Smith once appeared in a film that was a reflection of his early days. The 2005 film, Hitch, is a romantic comedy film, that follows the story of a dating doctor who helps people with dating advice. Certain aspects of the film resembled Smith’s life. Just like in the film, Smith struggled hard to woo girls during his early life.
During another interview, the actor shared that his first heartbreak became a great motivation for him to succeed in his career.
Will Smith’s early heartbreak shared a great resemblance with his film
Will Smith is known for delivering many incredible films throughout his career. Among them is his 2005 film Hitch, which was both a critical and a financial success. Apart from being a massive hit, the film also resembles Smith’s life in several ways.
In the movie, Smith played the role of Alex, a dating adviser, who helps other men woo women, but unfortunately, his advice was futile in his case, as he struggled hard to woo the lady of his dreams. Similar to his portrayal, Smith found it really hard to woo his school crush.

“I was about 10 years old and Stacy Brooks promised me the last dance at Shawn Hollis’ birthday party and I was prepared. I was there and ready for that last dance and the DJ announces that this is the last song and I turn around and she’s on the floor with David Brandon! I’ve been scarred from that moment, you know? But hey, I’m getting over it. I think I’m going to be okay.”
Young Smith certainly would have felt bad after this betrayal, but not every heartbreak was in vain as some helped him to get where he is today.

“When I was 15 years old, my first girlfriend cheated on me. And I remember making a decision that nobody would ever cheat on me again. And the way I was gonna do that was by being the biggest actor on Earth.”
Undeniably, breakups are painful, but Smith knows how to get the best out of it. Today, Smith is a successful actor married to Jada Pinkett Smith. And the rest is history.
