Sean Penn On The Subject Of His Upcoming Documentary Superpower

Sean Penn is one of those actors who has always voiced his opinions on social and political matters of the world. The Fair Game star would be releasing a documentary based on the Russian-Ukranian war focusing on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s fight for freedom from Russia.

The documentary also revolves around Ukranian President Volodymyrr Zelenskyy’s transition from an actor to a politician. During a press release as reported by People, Sean Penn spoke about the documentary. He mentioned-

“We set out to tell a lighthearted tale of this comedic actor who had been elected president of Ukraine and instead became witness to a historic leader and his country’s war for freedom. When you step into a country of such incredible unity, you realize what we [in the United States] have all been missing.”

The documentary is co-produced by See It Now Studios and Paramount+. The president of the See It Now Studio, Susan Zirinsky spoke about what makes the docu-film extraordinary. She said-

“What makes this film extraordinary is the immersive nature of Penn’s journey, which is a hallmark of our studio. Being in the president’s bunker the night of the invasion to speak firsthand with [Zelenskyy] whose country has been facing down the bloodiest invasion in Europe since World War II, Penn appreciated the extraordinarily historic weight of this moment and understood, from that moment on, the world had changed,”
