A former Versace model says she’s reverting to her natural appearance after undergoing 40 procedures to look like Kim Kardashian. Jennifer Pamplona, who is believed to have spent around $600,000 to resemble the Skims founder, may have initially liked the attention she was getting for her striking resemblance to Kardashian, but according to the 29-year-old, it has completely overshadowed the other qualities about her.
“People would call me a Kardashian and it started to get annoying. I had worked and studied and was a businesswoman,” she said, as quoted by Tyla, claiming that there was more interest in her looks than her personal achievements and it eventually appeared to have taken a toll on her. “I had done all these things and had all these achievements in my personal life, but I was only being recognized because I looked like a Kardashian.”
Pamplona realized that she was struggling with body dysmorphia, a mental condition that causes a person to persistently worry about things they consider to be flaws in their appearance but aren’t necessarily noticeable to others. Through the help of a doctor in Istanbul, Turkey, she was able to get her natural looks back, but the surgery came at a hefty price, having spent another $120,000 just so that she can look like herself again.
“I had a face and neck lift, buccal fat removal, cat eye surgery, a lip lift, and a nose job all at once. I went into the operation room as one person and I came out as another.”
As we all know, surgeries can sometimes lead to unhappy results, which Pamplona experienced when she began to suffer from complications from her latest procedures after coming down with an infection that caused bleeding from her cheeks.
Worried and somewhat petrified of what the final outcome would be, Pamplona is currently still said to be recovering from the cosmetic work she recently underwent after being treated for the infection she had from the surgery.
She still has severe bruising and is waiting for things to heal in hopes that once things have settled, she’ll no longer look like Kardashian and finally be her own person again.
“The best feeling is knowing I’m not in a fight with myself anymore,” she added. “I am now who I wanted to be and I really now understand the meaning of life. I feel like I can help a lot of people with my life story, but my face is beautiful and now I look even more beautiful.”
Her decision to publicly speak about her cosmetic work to revert to her natural appearance is an effort to raise awareness among the young and impressionable girls who idolize women such as the Kardashians and are willing to do whatever it takes to get a similar look for themselves.
Pamplona is currently working on a documentary to share her full journey. The project is titled “Addiction.”
