With the shrinking habitat and the increasingly limited amount of food, competition for prey or meals among higher predators is not a strange thing in nature.

Leopards are sharp predators, living from Asia to Africa.

Although the body is not too ideal, in return the leopard has agility, cunning and the ability to carry and climb extremely well. They can carry prey and climb on big trees to avoid attention from other predators.

Leopards are solitary hunters. Their favorite prey are usually antelopes, warty pigs, monkeys, porcupines…

However, with so many competitors in the same habitat conditions such as lions, hyenas, wild dogs, etc., hunting for prey becomes extremely difficult.

Therefore, to solve the problem of ensuring enough food to sustain life, leopards must become more flexible and create more different solutions. One of them is to protect your achievements against other wild robbers.

Elaine De Klerk, a tourist, shared the remarkable scene after having a wonderful vacation in Kruger National Park, South Africa.

That day, according to the route, the convoy of tourists traveled on asphalt roads in the late afternoon to reach the Sweni Hide area. When they arrived, they heard echoing sounds like that of a leopard. Stimulated by the wild cries, Elaine and her husband decided to explore this place.

By listening to the call of the wild, the couple saw a leopard standing on the other side of the river. More interestingly, the predator was also staring at a small antelope leisurely grazing on the riverbank. At this moment, Elaine felt a murderous aura radiating from the leopard. It seemed ready to go on a hunt.

Not long after, the leopard disappeared into the reeds, a familiar move of this animal stalking and approaching its prey. Efforts to find the predator again led Elaine and her husband to step on a bridge over the riverbank. Here, they witnessed the entire process of taking down the leopard’s prey.

It doesn’t take too much effort for a leopard to catch an antelope. But, that’s not the end. While the antelope was struggling in the leopard’s claws, suddenly three crocodiles appeared from the water.

A crocodile in the herd rushed forward, bit the antelope’s back and pulled the prey back towards him. Of course, the leopard will not give up. A suffocating struggle took place between a crocodile and a leopard.

Poor little antelope was torn into two pieces in an instant. At this time, the crocodiles seemed satisfied with the meat they had won so they left. The same thing happens with leopards.
