Although they are both reptiles, crocodiles have superior strength than snakes. Therefore, it is not difficult for crocodiles to defeat their enemies.

The short-snouted alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) is a native American alligator commonly found from Texas to North Carolina. This is a large crocodile species with an adult body that can be 4 – 5 m long and weigh more than 400 kg. The largest alligator ever found in Louisiana recorded a length of up to 5.84 m.

This short-snouted species lives in freshwater environments such as ponds, swamps, rivers, lakes… as well as in brackish water. They are considered an important species for maintaining ecological diversity in wetlands.

The bite force is the most dangerous weapon, creating the brand of swamp lord for the American short-snouted crocodile. On average, a crocodile’s bite produces a force of approximately 2,960 pounds (~1,342 kg), one of the highest records ever recorded for a living animal.

The American short-snouted alligator has a tail half as long as its total length, used mainly for propulsion when swimming, and also acts as a defensive weapon when it feels threatened.

When mentioning lands where people can easily encounter wild animals, one cannot ignore the US state of Florida. The family of Mr. Sean and Ms. Kimberly O’Malley, residents of the Nocatee area, St. Johns, witnessed a terrifying encounter in the backyard.

That day, under the hot sunlight, Sean was walking with a bottle of beer in his hand when he suddenly saw a crocodile sneaking into the empty land behind his house. Extremely surprised by the stranger’s presence, the man called his wife so they could both see what would happen. Like a “shinobi”, the short-snouted crocodile swam through the lake belonging to Sean’s house and then jumped to the ground to attack a snake that seemed to be lying in the sun.

The quick battle between the two reptiles made Sean’s family unable to believe what they had just witnessed.

Tim performed his signature “death roll” move to defeat the snake and then drag it away under the water.

What just happened was as if a documentary about the wildlife world was being shown live outdoors and Sean and his wife were the only viewers allowed access to watch.

According to Sean, this crocodile has appeared here several times since October 2022. He even nicknamed it Tim. However, since knowing Tim, he has never done anything that went beyond the limit until today. This incident somewhat reminded Sean about the power of the crocodile and the danger it can cause.
