Eric and Faith Johnson resumed their search for their daughter Bella after their home in Cookeville, Tennessee, United States, was devastated by a tornado in the early part of March. After an exhaustive search lasting over 54 days, the puppy was eventually found and reunited with the people whom she loves the most in the whole world.
Due to the very unpredictable behavior that she exhibited just before to the oncoming storm, Bella, an Australian Shepherd mix who is six years old and has a great deal of intelligence, was the one who notified her family of what would come.
Eric gathered his wife and three children and hid them all in the bathroom tub before fleeing the house with them. When the tornado struck Bella’s home, he immediately went looking for her but was unable to find her in time to save her life.
The hurricane completely destroyed his house, and it was left for him to fend for himself in the backyard.
CNN reported that Eric stated:
“Bella had taken refuge beneath our bed as the storm began to rage outside our house. She was left abandoned in our yard, where she resided for a while, and then disappeared.
Because of the several people who claimed to have seen Bella’s body on multiple occasions, her family never had any reason to suspect that she was still alive even though she was just a few kilometers away from their home.
Since the day that the dog went missing, the couple has conducted many searches in their immediate vicinity. They have also left little pieces of clothing for the dog to sniff in the event that he is still around.
Sarah Romeyn, a friend of the couple who works at an animal grooming company, received a call on April 25 from someone who claimed to have seen her across the street, which ultimately led to the pair getting back together.
After Sarah installed surveillance cameras on the fence that encircled the cleaning firm, she was able to get video of Bella leaving the workplace via a narrow passageway that was located between two buildings. Sarah came to the conclusion that she needed to go to the place in order to help Bella get in touch with both of her parents.
