Every living thing wants to be loved and cared for, especially when something prevents it from living fully. Unfortunately, there are animals with deformities or disabilities that reduce their chances of being adopted . And that’s it, most people look at their physical flaws, not their inner beauty.

But, as there is always an exception to every rule and to change this situation, Gabby came to a shelter to adopt pets and was able to see beyond Walter’s physical deformities , cataloged as the ugliest dog in the shelter. She fell in love with him.

Walter managed to be pulled off the streets and made it to the adoption center , where he quickly caught the attention of the caretakers due to his strange physical appearance. He suffered from mucopolysaccharidosis , a terminal congenital canine disease.

His spine and legs were deformed, in addition to being very malnourished and with a deep head wound, the product of a bite from another dog. He was immediately called the ugliest dog in the world.

People passed by, ignoring him because of his appearance . Despite the large number of people who attended daily in search of a new member for his family, no one took him into account until Gabby performed the miracle from the depths of her good heart.

Before Gabbi arrived at the shelter that day, the volunteers were already quite worried that poor Walter would not be adopted . For this reason, when they saw her enter, they called her by her name so that she could see the little animal, since she was already a well-known visitor to the animal center.

“Hey Gabby, you have to see this dog!” a volunteer called out.

She has already rescued several specimens in that center, so the volunteer thought of her as the best person to give Walter a new home . But, what he didn’t know is that she would be his new human mother forever.

“I immediately fell in love with him. I have found in this little furry one a unique and very special puppy”, said Gabby.

In that instant, Gabby reflected on the true meaning of beauty. Despite being ignored by everyone, her sweetness captivated her from the first glance of hers.

“It would be difficult for him to find a family to adopt him and he would possibly spend all his days in the shelter or be euthanized,” Gabby added.

Walter’s illness will not allow him to enjoy life for many years. However, at least there are still people like this noble woman, with a big heart.

In fact, his love and dedication has made the puppy progress, walk and even run around the house . Although he costs her, his life in his new home changed completely. He doesn’t give up and Gabby is delighted.

Currently, the puppy with the “prettiest heart in the world” is undergoing physiotherapy in a small children’s pool, which has been strengthening his muscles and bones every day. This is how love heals.
